Deadlines are for non-EU applicants where the university separates them; EU applicants often have later dates. Dashed timeline bars mean the opening date is not published, so the bar shows only the run-up to the deadline.
Costs are per semester for non-EU students: tuition plus the semester contribution (which usually includes a public-transport ticket). A master's is normally 3–4 semesters. The student visa also needs a blocked account (about €11,900 a year at the 2025 rate).
uni-assist checks foreign documents for many German universities. Red means it's required, either as the full application or as a pre-check (VPD) before you apply on the university portal. It costs €75 for the first application and €30 for each additional one in the same semester, and processing takes 4–8 weeks, so start well before the deadline. Amber means it's likely but not confirmed. Green means DAAD doesn't mention it, but check the programme website to be sure.
World rank is the QS World University Rankings 2026. Universities of applied sciences and many smaller universities are not ranked by QS; that says nothing about programme quality.
Skills come from each programme's DAAD course description. A missing skill may still be offered as an elective, so check the module handbook.
